The Impostor Question

The Basics

• One player is secretly the impostor — they don't know the shared topic.
• Everyone else knows the topic and must answer a vague question naturally.
• After all answers, players vote for who they think is the impostor.
• If the impostor is caught, the other players score. If not, the impostor gets one topic guess.

For Moderators

• The room is created automatically when you open the app. Share the join link in the lobby.
• Choose the number of rounds and a topic pack, then click Start game.
• During the answer phase, click Next turn after each player finishes.
• Once all players have answered, click Open voting.
• After all votes are in, click Reveal votes to show results.
• If the impostor escapes the vote, wait for their topic guess, then click Reveal topic guess.
• Use Next round to continue or Show final scores to end the game.
• Click View topic in private window to see the secret topic safely during screen share.

For Players

• Join via the link shared by the moderator, enter your name, and wait in the lobby.
• Your role card shows either the shared topic (you're an insider) or You are the impostor.
• When it's your turn, type a short answer and click Submit answer.
• After all answers, vote for who you think is the impostor — you cannot vote for yourself.
• If you are the impostor and survive the vote, guess the shared topic to earn bonus points.
